In the 'Genuine Jesus' Jesus states, "My purpose is to correct the discrepancies between what is presented in the New Testament and what I actually taught in Palestine. My disciples saw no need at the time to preserve in writing my teaching as they expected my speedy return as their king and legislator. The Gospels of the Bible are the result of the recollections and the later interpretations by the New Testament copyists of what they thought I said."
