I recently set up a new website for Spiritual artists worldwide. The Hearthfire was born following a conversation between myself and Heather Charnley. Although we have never met, we found we shared a dream of a place where spiritual artists of all persuasions could meet and share our individual vision of the world.
I chose the name as, for me, the Hearthfire is a universal symbol of warmth and welcome, of sharing, and the Hearth is the centre of a home. It seemed an appropriate name.
Spiritual art is a loose and wide ranging term, covering many forms of inspiration. Even within this group, each of us will see the term a little differently. For myself, I work mainly through the images that arise during meditation and dreaming. Some are inspired by the natural life in the landscape around us, others may paint what they see or feel clairvoyantly. Yet others are inspired by faith.
And it is probably true to say that we all cross these boundaries quite regularly!
Maybe a better definition of spiritual art is
that the artist has an awareness of the continuity of life and its roots in a greater Source.
This site is designed as a place to share our diverse perceptions. Each artist is free to express their own inner vision and faith, knowing that all Paths are part of the same journey. We do not sell work from this site, though each artist may have work for sale or may accept commissions. We are simply here to share our vision of the beauty, emotion and infinite wonder of the world we live in and the human spirit that lives in every heart.
The Hearthfire has brought together writers and visual artists, poets, musicians and singer/songwriters who share the idea that with art and spirituality, there are no boundaries, but that, like spokes on a wheel, we can all start from different places on our journey to a single centre.
Anyone who expresses their inner world through art is welcome to submit their work with a view to having their own page here.. there is no charge and no strings.. just a shared view of inner freedom .
